Nicole Spanger
FounderNicole’s ballet journey began in kindergarten. Trained in the Cecchetti method, Contemporary and Jazz Ballet in Johannesburg, South Africa under Diana Ward-Hull; she later brought her love of dance to Melbourne where she was mentored by Jeanette Liddell and earned entry into the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching at Box Hill Tafe. Nicole’s expertise is complemented by her Diploma of Vocational Education & Training - Instructional Design, grounded in adult learning principles.
After a foot injury shifted her relationship with movement, Nicole cultivated deep body awareness and a mindful appreciation for motion. She teaches ballet as a practice of intentional, conscious embodiment. Her classes emphasise ballet not just as an art form, but as a sustainable, practice—especially for adult bodies seeking safety, understanding, and joy in movement.

“I’ve loved ballet for as long as I can remember, but my real passion for teaching adults began when I realised how few spaces truly supported adult learners. After years of training in traditional schools, I saw a pattern: adults were often treated as an afterthought. Adults come to ballet with courage, curiosity, and rich life experience. Helping them reconnect with movement—often after years away—feels incredibly meaningful. I opened Ballet Éternel to give adults the dedicated home they deserve—a place where they can train seriously, progress safely, and feel proud of every step. Sharing this craft with adults is not just my job; it’s my calling.”
Charlie Keegan- Bull
Teaching ArtistCharlie was born and raised in rural NSW, where he underwent his initial ballet training under Rosie O'Sullivan at Rosie O'Sullivan School of Dance in Cooma, New South Wales. He then moved to Melbourne in 2018 to formally pursue his ballet training at the National Theatre Ballet School in St Kilda. Here he was trained under newly appointed Artistic Director Damian Smith, an Australian Born dancer who was formerly a Principal Dancer at San Francisco Ballet. Charlie was also coached by Claire Campbell of Claire Classical Coaching here in Melbourne.
After obtaining his certificate 4 in Dance, he soon transitioned to the professional stream in which he has danced professionally since 2023. He has danced with the Victorian State Ballet in that time and has performed many roles in various places all over Australia.
Our founder, Nicole, searched high and low on the Mornington Peninsula for a place where adults could pursue serious ballet—where discipline met artistry, and technical mastery was paired with emotional awareness. But the space she longed for didn’t exist. And in that moment of clarity, she knew: if it was going to exist, she would have to create it herself.
From that spark, Ballet Éternel® was born in October 2025.
Founded on a simple belief—adults deserve serious training- Our ballet studio is designed only for dedicated adults who are serious about growth.
Our teaching follows the traditions of European conservatories:
Individual attention
Technical clarity
Cultural etiquette
Long-term development
We work with members only to maintain a consistent and focused training environment. Students commit to a consistent weekly schedule, allowing for continuity, progress, and group cohesion.
At Ballet Éternel, ballet is not just steps—it is a practice in discipline, emotional intelligence, self-discovery, and community.
What if adult ballet was the norm, not the exception, and the art form felt truly approachable? What if you were already enough to begin, exactly as you are?
Our Story
Our values shape not only how we teach, but how we welcome, support, and celebrate our students—both in and out of the studio —so that ballet remains a source of strength, creativity, and connection for all.
Our Values
01
Welcoming With Intention:
Ballet belongs to every body. Adults of all experience levels, identities, ages (16+) and shapes are welcome here. What matters most is a shared commitment to focus, respect, and contributing positively to our studio community.
02
Composure & Self-Awareness
We value dancers who approach their training with calm focus and openness. Corrections are part of the art — we receive them with grace and use them to grow.
04
Artistry & Presence
Ballet is more than steps. It is expression, mindfulness, musicality, and strength — an opportunity to be fully present in your body and your movement.
03
Precision & Dedication
Strong technique is built steadily. We honour attention to detail, consistency, and the quiet discipline that allows real progress over time.
05
Preserving Our Environment
To maintain the integrity of our space, emotional steadiness and respectful conduct are essential. We have zero tolerance for aggression, discrimination, harassment, or body shaming of other members and trainers. To learn more, see our blog about emotional intelligence in ballet.
